Motion Graphics | Studio Intro

I was inspired by the retro rubberhose character animations from the ‘20s. I also love the game, Cuphead, which I drew inspiration from as well. The video features the company’s mascot, Javahead, as a simple coffee mug at first. But then, as he gets filled up with coffee, he comes to life, growing limbs, and walking while whistling around the scene.

I used the Rubberhose3 plug-in for After Effects from Battle Axe to manipulate Javahead to walk around.

2D Animation | Night at the Cemetery

For this animation, I decided to give a Halloween twist to a walking exercise. I chose a zombie character to play around with the pacing, slowing down its movements to create that signature staggered, creepy walk zombies are known for.

I designed the animation to loop, creating a seamless and eerie effect. By experimenting with timing and spacing, I captured the unique, unsettling feel of a zombie’s walk while keeping things fun and fitting for the Halloween theme.

2D Animation | Jumping Frog

For this animation, I wanted to bring a playful scene to life using a frog. The animation begins with a wide establishing shot of a serene lake, then zooms in on a hillside where the frog starts jumping toward the water. I decided to use a frog to practice and emphasize the fun energy of the jump, creating a lively feel.

The background assets were created using generative AI in Illustrator, where I experimented with a mix of different pieces the AI provided. The result was a collage-like effect that adds depth and texture to the scene, setting a natural and dynamic backdrop for the frog’s journey.

2D Animation | Like a River

This was an exercise in rotoscoping which is an old tradition in animation where artists will trace over people doing some sort of action and translating it to their own character.

I chose to do this dance because it was very popular and there was a lot of slow moves, which posed a bit of a challenge.
